Kingston Anti-violence Survivors Advisory Council
MISSION STATEMENT
The Kingston Anti-violence Survivors Advisory Council is committed to eradicating partner abuse and sexual violence, and building safer communities by: increasing awareness and understanding of issues relating to intimate violence; and working to improve and enhance services for victims and survivors through interagency collaboration.
GOALS, OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The Council will work to fulfill its Mission Statement by:
- Liaising and working cooperatively with the Kingston Frontenac Anti-Violence Coordinating Committee and its member agencies to ensure that the lived experiences of victims and survivors inform the development and delivery of services, supports and programs.
- Researching, preparing, distributing and presenting information about issues relating to intimate violence and the needs of victims and survivors to service providers and community members, including but not limited to formal presentations and training programs, web-based communications, and media outreach.
- Providing issue-specific input and feedback to service providers, agencies and organizations working with or on behalf of victims and survivors.
