​KAVAC is a women survivor-led volunteer group committed to eradicating partner abuse and sexual violence and building safer communities. The Council is particularly interested in increasing awareness and understanding of victims’ experiences and needs among service providers, exploring new ways to improve and enhance services through inter–agency collaboration.

WomenatthecentrE is a non-profit organization that works to eradicate violence against women, women-identified, gender queer, 2-spirit and trans-identified people through personal, political and social advocacy.

As the only organization created by survivors, for survivors, we use our shared experiences to help change public perceptions and policy.

Our membership is made up of survivors who use our organization to develop resources to help their current situation, connect with other members through our peer support community, transform their experiences into expertise that is sought after by government and corporate entities, and so much more.

Assistance for victims and survivors of crime, tragic circumstance & disaster in the city of Kingston and the County of Frontenac. Working in partnership with police, fire & rescue, paramedics, campus security and your community. Victim Services of Kingston and Frontenac is committed to providing crisis response, practical assistance and supportive programs to victims of crime and tragedy within Frontenac County.

Ontario Network of Sexual Assault Domestic Violence Treatment Centres

Established by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in 1993 to provide leadership and support to 37 hospital-based sexual assault and domestic violence treatment centres across Ontario, our members are the staff and healthcare professionals of the SA/DV treatment centres that, together, form the Network.

Our goal is to provide victims/survivors of sexual violence and domestic violence with comprehensive, quality care and support. Through collaboration in research, education and training activities, the Network strives to establish standardization in service provision across the province. The Network represents the collective 37 centres, lobbying for change and working to influence public policy.

Luke’s Place

Luke’s Place is an award-winning non-profit organization solely devoted to improving the safety and experience of women and their children as they proceed through the family law process after fleeing an abusive relationship.
The Luke’s Place Virtual Legal Clinic provides women with free legal advice on family law issues. They use web-based video conferencing or the telephone to connect women to lawyers in Ontario. The Virtual Legal Clinic provides free summary legal advice to women in Ontario who have been subjected to intimate partner violence.

Femicide is commonly defined as the intentional murder of women because they are women. Broader definitions can include any killings of women or girls. OAITH’s Femicide List includes women (and at times their children) or girls who were killed by men who are either a former or current intimate partner, a family member, someone known to them, or in some cases unknown but still targeted. This list includes women/children killed in Ontario and is based on media reports and other available sources. This means there may be errors or omissions. This list is partial.

Child Abuse Protocol for Kingston and Frontenac

In 2009, the Frontenac Children’s Aid Society, area Police services and their community partners launched a Child Abuse Protocol for Kingston and Frontenac. Although this protocol is not a KFACC document, the committee supports the ideas and motivations underlying the effort to grow and strengthen the services available for area children in crisis.

Kingston Youth Sexual Violence Prevention Plan

This report describes the findings of a community assessment conducted by Bailey Gerrits and Rebecca Rappeport commissioned by KFACC in the Spring of 2015 to better address sexual violence prevention for youth in the greater Kingston area. The strategic goals of this assessment were to better understand sexual violence among youth, current and past strategies to prevent sexual violence in the greater Kingston area, gaps and barriers, and to recommend next steps.
Through engagement with over 40 stakeholders from youth-serving and gender­ based violence organizations, we identified areas of concern, current prevention strategies, gaps in prevention efforts, and potential barriers for further prevention.
